Southwest Travel Region is proud to announce that Pagosa Springs is hosting the 2016 Southwest Colorado Tourism Summit April 13 and 14. After being held in Durango and Crested Butte the past four years, Pagosa Springs was selected to host the fifth annual Southwest Colorado Tourism Summit.

The summit will be held at the Ross Aragon Community Center and The Springs Resort and Spa.

As always, the summit registration fee is kept as low as possible. The early-bird rate is only $75 and will now be available through April 10. Why? Because we want the summit education sessions to be small in size but big on education. Why? Because we want networking opportunities to be powerful with one-on-one time with our regional and state tourism leaders.

More than 16 workshops and educational sessions will be offered to summit attendees. For the full conference agenda and summit information, visit www.swtourismsummit.com.

All businesses in Pagosa Springs and southwest Colorado who want to benefit more from out-of-town visitors should attend. The summit is a once-a-year opportunity to bring together businesses, tourism and hospitality leaders from around Colorado to our southwest corner of the state. The Southwest Tourism Summit is where locals meet to learn, exchange ideas and create important industry relationships.

The conference will feature many things: Knowledge, networking and fun. Seminars, workshops and educational sessions. Partnership opportunities, social media, marketing, public relations, agritourism, Internet technology, travel markets and more.

Cathy Ritter, director of the Colorado Tourism Office, is the featured guest speaker and she will present information and insights on our state tourism programs and initiatives.

Carrie Whitley, SW Travel Region representative, said, “All businesses from southwest Colorado who want to benefit more from out-of-town visitors should attend. The summit provides a once-a-year opportunity to bring together businesses, tourism and hospitality leaders from around Colorado to the southwest corner of the state. It is where locals meet to learn, exchange ideas and create those important industry relationships. I can’t express strongly enough how important it is for businesses to attend. Why? It is the only time key tourism leaders gather in our area at one location with the sole purpose of helping businesses; we all should participate in growing the tourism in southwest Colorado.”

And, new in 2016, registered summit attendees will be able to participate in our fundraising silent auction at the summit. There are amazing vacation packages to bid on, including a Lake Powell houseboat, rounds of golf, train rides, performance tickets, getaway lodging packages and much more.
